Yaaay!
He had to reinstall things like Word and Photoshop but I still have all my old files and stuff so it's all good. He even fixed the resolution for me ;w;
So happy.
Halloween was fun. I handed out candy and our house didn't get egged or rolled so I'm counting it as a victory. The morning of I had to go to an interview with some guy from Rochester University, and I think it went well. :] I like the school a lot and even though I seriously doubt I can get funding to go there at least I get along well with the dean of financial aid. That counts, right? We spent most of the time just talking about my town and how cool science fiction is (the nerdiness dripping from our conversation).
Anyways, a couple of you asked me last journal which schools I'm applying to. Since everyone keeps asking in real life and I keep having to tell them I figure I can't jinx myself any worse by laying the list out here as well. These are the six I'm applying to or already have applied to:
Rochester University
Pennsylvania State
UTK (Because instate college is teh cheaper)
UTC
Auburn University
Rennslaer Tech
Vanderbilt
No, I don't want to go to Vanderbilt (It's an instate school that costs a lot and has its own private hospital and stuff). I'm not going to get the funding for it (That's not pessimism, that's just a fact. To get scholarships for Vanderbilt you've either got to be Jesus or be so damn close no one can tell the difference. D< They want perfect scores and volunteer hours and kids who can revive the dead), it's expensive, and the only students there will be rich kids or work-a-holics, the two groups I get along with the worst. And besides all that, it's not a good school for my major. I'd be tossing out 80k every year for an education I could get just as well at the University of Tennessee. >> My mom is forcing me to and I'm just going to look forward to her dissapointment later when they guffaw at us.
I'm actually not that optimistic that any out of state schools will offer me enough scholarship money either, but I'm more willing to try for them because they at least have decent physics departments and actual observatories.
Right now it's looking like I'm going to have my best shot at going to Auburn, which I have mixed feelings about. On one hand it's a very nice school and on the other it's in bloody Alabama. I'm trying to avoid the overly warm summers and ignorant redneck culture; this seems like such a step backwards >>;.
(It's better than Florida I guess)
BUT ENOUGH OF THIS ARBITRARY NONSENSE.
Still working on EleMental, mainly the language and geography at this point. I've got a working alphabet (yey) and a pretty good list of words started. :] Should still be in development for a while and it's probably not the most important thing about the story, but it means stuff to me.
I've also got quite a few pictures coming along now that I've got my scanner back and those should be up very soon.
Currently all my classes are concerned with dumping an insane number of projects on us and my clubs are finally asking me to do things as well, so I may have less time as we near December. I spent most of last week just writing essays. It was miserable ;___;
Anyways, that's probably about it for me this week. <3 I'll post a quiz if I can find one. AND GERMANY KNOWS WHO I'M TAGGING, TOO.
Dzetl,
Kitteh
Devious Comments
Anyway, what do you want to study? Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? What sort of toothpaste do you use? Where do you store your toenail clippings? Are my questions annoying? >3
Busy time for schools. Whoo~

Unless I'm planning on going around shouting my full name and street adress.
WHICH I JUST MIGHT DO HOW ABOUT THAT THEN.
D8 TOO MANY
-explodes-
xD Well, in order, my answers are:
Physics and Astronomy (Yey planets), I want to be a professor of Planetary and Regular Astronomy, Crest Pro-Health, in a jar I feed to school children, and YES ;__;
D: Indeed. You lucky lot at least get to have summer while you take your exams.

No, just kidding. c: I'm just scared to think about college, so I'm putting off worrying about it until next year. XD But duuude. Sounds like you're really getting down into it. As for scholarship money... Score high on your SATs!! (That is, if you haven't already taken them) Lol. Or, you can go onto that one website... I forget what exactly it's called, but it's like randomscholarships .com or somethin', and you can get scholarships for being left handed and drinking milk and other stupid stuff like that. XDD It's pretty random, but it's worth a look.
Anyways, best of luck to you on your college search! :3 I hope you find the right school worthy of your awesomeness!!!

.it's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world.
A creepy stalker by the name of Boof, maybe..
Oh noes! *scrapes you up*
That's really cool.

You make me afraid to go to sleep at night, Boof.
I think it's part of what makes us such good friends.
D: I want to sit around all day and do nothing but they'll probably make me work a little at first.
Actually, what I'd probably be teaching is stuff like how to tell if there are planets orbiting around suns that are too far away to be seen by a telescope, and how you could tell if they were big or made of gas or whatall. :3 The goal is trying to find nice, earth-y ones and see if they've got any life on them, I guess. I just like the idea of finding planets and getting to name them <33.
Someday I'll name one 'Boofazar' or something.
And people will just have to live with it >D
Plus I'll get to wear neat suits and stuff.
What're you planning on doing after high school, anyways?

Also kidding <3. You really shouldn't worry about it right now, in my opinion- There's no point in scaring yourself xD. The only reason I'm not freaking out is because I'm taking it one hastily written essay and application at a time (and mom is doing most of it even though I keep asking her not to >>
Oh yeah, I think our guidance councilers mentioned that. xD I've never actually been but someday I want my own scholarship on that site. I'm going to fund kids who own or have owned at least a dozen iguanas. The iguana trade will go way up thanks to me :].
Thanks, Kia <33. Me too! I just hope they'll let me come for cheapsies ;w;. And best of luck to you as well <33.
Hopefully I'll get to come out to California for grad school, and then we'll tear that beznetch UP!

And you know how at night when you go to bed and you think you're alone?
Yeah.
Ahahaha, cool. Will you teach kids or adults?
Boofazar would be the sex. 8D I'd so live there.
Go to university and study literature and theatre. I'd like to become a professional actor. Buut, the odds of that happening are pretty slim so I'll settle for a freelance journalist or something.

Probably college level classes; tenure ftw! I'd get paid more if I taught at a college.
And you'd make it all awsome with a side of fries and people'd be all 'DIZAAAAM! WHY DON'T I LIVE THERE?'
And you'd be all "BECAUSE THIS. IS. BOOFAZAAARRR!"
And boot them out into space and stuff.

"....Because if the soul is a symptom then the condition is you"
So you'd be the slightly insane professor that everyone loves? 8D
It has to have an atmosphere though. You can't have chips without a stable atmosphere.
